British book chain, Waterstone’s, will be setting up a phone helpline
for fans to deal with the fact that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the last book in the series and that two characters are said to be killed off.
Back in June when Ms. Rowling appeared
on the 'Richard & Judy Show' in the UK and mentioned that "two more people have died than she originally planned and one other person has got a reprieve."
Debbie Williams of Waterstone's said:
This could be a similar moment to when Take That spilt up – there could be a lot of upset teenagers out there. We are looking to set up a helpline for them.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be published on July 21st.
Thanks to everyone who emailed.

I personally dont see why they need a helpline. if they truly needed one the ones that use it would need a little more professional help. im gonna be sad, im gonna cry when i finish the book. but you've got to realise that there's still more movies to come, and when they end, then were gonna need a hotline

I find it sad that a helpline would have to be set up in the first place. I hate to say it becuase I love these books dearly, but that's all they are; books. Of course I will cry and probably want to throw the book by the end, but why take it so personally and let it upset you more than it should?
My opinion is it's obsession gone ridikulus

*sob*
I think I might need a helpline in US. *faint*

It actually isn't a bad idea you know. I was completely distraught when Dumbledore died in the 6th book, but had nobody to talk to about it... hehehe.
And only one liked character will die, the other one will be Voldemort.

Wow. Isn't that a little bit too much?
I mean, it's just a book. Well ok, it's not just A book, it's a GREAT book, but seriously - a helpline?! Sounds a little too extreme in my opinion...

They're making a helpline?? Now I REALLY know things have gone crazy, I may love the books, but are there really people out there who need counseling for the books?? (No offense to you if you do). . .Though now that I think about it. . . 2 characters are going to die?? *tears galore* ~E.P.

I think its quite sad how they have to make a helpline, but some people are really obsessed and don't see it as just a book. I love the books, but i know that its only a work of fiction.

*Falls off the chair* Did I just read that right. *laughs hysterically* All this just because its the 7th book. Come on. I mean, the book is popular but setting phone lines is a bit over the edge, isn't it? Maybe there will be "upset teenagers" out there but I'm sure that with the many sites out there talking about HP, they won't need it. THey could just come here and let all their disappointment out.

Ummm i've NEVER heard of take that. I had to google them. I sincerely hope that the last book ( being that in and of itself, the l a s t...) is so disturbing as to upset kids everywhere. I don't think that's what J.K. had in mind when dreaming this up so long ago.

This is a little but OTT but then again, they set up help lines when Take That split up...so I don't see why not!

I wish they had one for the united states, I mean for some of us, myself included, this is been a major part of our childhood, a major influence and part. Which I am very thankful for, I love Harry Potter and it has meant so much to me. *tear*

That's very nice of them to set up a helpline for this purpose. It'll avoid depression and help make a lot of people feel a bit better about July 2007.

This story just made me laugh. Don't get me wrong, I think the helpline will be a fantastic idea, I'm just a little jealous we didn't have a helpline when Rose left Doctor Who. I really could have used the comfort.
And I'd forgotten two people die. Urg... do we have that number yet?
