According to a report
on an Irish web site, scouts from Warner Bros. have recently visited Ireland viewing possible locations to film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
The report states that Warner Bros. are interested in finding new locations because they have now exhausted possible locations in Britain.
Of course, as always, please treat this as a rumor until confirmed and we will update accordingly.

Why don't they take a leaf out of Peter Jackson's book and film HBP in New Zealand? Breathtaking mountains, quite countryside, cheap filming rates.... although Ireland is breathtaking as well. It's just a bit strange when they said they have "exhausted" all likely places in Britain.... hmmmm.... I thought there's tonnes of places around Scotland they could have chosen - how about Isle of Skye? Now THAT'S a pretty place....

Ireland is so beautiful - I would love to see some scenery from there in an HP movie. That would be awesome.

Sounds cool. Ireland seems like a great place to film it. It would be so awesome if they filmed it in the US, but the likelihood of that happening is pretty much nothing.

Hmmmm... Ireland. I wish I could go there. I think it would be a decent place for HBP to be filmed but as HPANA says it is just a rumor for now.

HA! they have "exhuasted" the locations in Britian.
in a way, I can see that since its been what over 5 years of filming pretty much the same places.
Ireland is JUST as pretty. it will do fine.

This should be interesting. Ireland is beautiful and I bet it will look amazing on screen. I am usually not fond of big changes in tradition, but I think I can deal with this, sounds really good!

Does it really matter? Most of HBP was filmed inside Hogwarts anyway, so it's not like we'll be seeing the country side much anyway.

MWbashfulAR says:
I think they are scouting Ireland for the scenery of the caves only. They may have exhausted locations in England that would fit the cave sequences and are now turning to Ireland for a place to film. That sounds logical. They will keep Scotland for most of the filming done for Hogwarts and I imagine their same old England bits. If they are scouting new locations, it's because there is a new location in the book - either Snape's village, the cave sequence, or, well actually that's it.

If they do I guess it would be for the scene with the cave and the horcrux... They will definitely use the other palces too, they can't abandon them now... Hmm, Ireland is partly Britain, the Northern Ireland part :P

Oooo sounds pretty good if it does happen! The Scottish scenes have always worked well but thats obviously because Hogwarts is based if not in Scotland, but near it. Ireland will have much of the same effect i feel...will deffinately look amazing!
