Later tonight in the UK Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe will appear
on the first show of the new season of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC1. Dan will discuss his most recent role in Equus as well as the Harry Potter movies.
Dan on taking the role of Alan in Equus:
It’s not that I want to distance myself from Harry Potter, the whole point of doing something different is to show that you can, so hopefully it’s achieved that... in any case, given this opportunity, you would be really dumb to turn it down.
Dan on the Harry Potter movies:
I’m going to do all seven, I was 11 at the start and I’ll be 20 by the end... I genuinely think these films have got better and better.
Thanks to Ryan and Marie for the link and if you have a chance to capture the show please let us know.

Can't wait to see Equus and the new movie, trailer is brilliant still, but when do we actually get to see the longer version?

Well, he is right, the movies have gotten better and better. I don't really see how people can look down upon him because of his role in Equus; he has to move beyond Harry Potter sometime, does he not? He eventuually has to broaden his horizons, and why not start now?

Ooh... I love yah Dan! It's hard to accept that you are really grown up now, you're really matured... and it's hard to accept those things that come with being an adult... But I still love you and know that you know what you're doing...

I completely agree with Dan. He had the opportunity to do something els, then why not? He needs work after the seventh film so it is a good thing he proves he can do that.

I am glad that he is doing the rest of Harry Potter, but I sure wouldn't want to be like Alan on Equus, or see him.

I understand why he wanted to do other roles. You wouldnt want to be marked as that Harry Potter Boy forever, so we can expect him to broaden his horizons, if you will. I actually think it's kinda cool that he's in other stuff, and it would be cool to see him in other places.

Good interview.
Dan has a wicked sense of humor. He has grown up so much it is so hard to believe that little Harry Potter is growing up. Yes, I know that Dan is not Harry Potter, I don't care what else he does or how naked he gets, Daniel Radcliff is now and forever will be Harry Potter.
However, he is becoming a very talented young man in his own right and I do wish him well.

Am I alone in thinking it was kind of mean of Jon Ross to ask all those questions (1st time J Ross viewer). Anyway, Dan sure gave as good as he got. I admire & envy his poise.
I have to take exception to those who think 20 is old. =)'
Just you wait. *heh heh *
Re: worrying the actors would be too old to play teens. That was never true, just media people trying to make a living writing crap. Ethan Hawke was in his late 28 when he was in Dead Poets Society. The 'boys' in the History Boys are in their mid to late twenties. My 9 yr old photo of me in my passport look pretty much like me now (yeah!)

That's almost a decade he would've spend with the HP franchise. That takes some dedication. Hats off to Dan and the rest of the trio for really keeping it together after all these years.
