The soundtrack for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie will be released on Tuesday, July 10 in the U.S. and is now available
for pre-order through Amazon for $18.98.
The score for the movie was done by Nicholas Hooper, which HPANA exclusively announced
back in April of last year. At this time no additional information has been released as to the contents but we will be sure to update as soon as we hear anything.
Thanks to Matthew for the news.
UPDATE: Thanks to every one who let us know that you can also order the soundtrack via Amazon UK here
and for those in Canada here
.

yes Hooper is the composer; I have heard some of his music from "The Girl in the Cafe", a Yates film. It was very subtle and soft, almost sunny at times and at others sombre, so I am interested in hearing his rendition of the ministry duel, after Doyle's use of heavy brass for the graveyard scene in OOTP.
I like both Doyle & Williams' soundtracks. among Williams many tunes, Hedwig's Theme "Lumos", Arrival of Baby Harry and A Window to the Past (not really Williams but Sir Richard Harvey) are my favorites. I also like Doyle's The Story Continues, Hogwarts March. Williams made memorable pieces that sometimes stole the limelight from Columbus' visuals. Cuaron's visual styles competed with Williams often though. A Window to the Past (by Harvey) remains my favorite. Doyle on the other hand gave us a broader range of sounds, more dark & heavy at times, and playful at others but always with a fantasy-style. I would decribe Williams on the other hand as sad or cheerful, usually magical. Doyle also allowed Newell to blast us with visual FX, only occasionally throwing in the full force of his music; so while his work wasn't as memorable, it tied in better with the movie, giving more focus to the visuals. Hooper has a tough job before him. I wouldn't mind Williams coming back if he wants to, Heyman wants him, the director is ok with him. Otherwise, I like the whole idea of a new director-composer team for each movie. Newell & Doyle have a similar relationship as Yates & Hooper. What's most interesting though is that this will be the only movie with a different script--writer. That's probably what's unique about this movie. As far as the Wyrd Sisters music in GoF goes, it felt like bad noise the first time I heard it, but later it sounded pretty good. We will probably never have as much variety in music as we did in GoF.

Wow, already?! I love the HP music. Hopefully Hooper did it justice. Although GoF was good, I still think John Williams did the best score. PoA was probably my favorite. I will definitely get that when it comes out; I'm not much for preordering (except the book itself).

I'll be getting the soundtrack even though it isn't done by John Williams. I don't understand why they didn't use him again. Maybe he will do the last 2 movies.

Not much of a soundtrack girl but I am considering buying it as I have enjoyed the music in the past and my friends wouldn't know who I was if they didn't hear HP tones coming out all the time.

... The soundtracks for all the movies are pretty much the same. They usually have the same tune but at a different speed and volume. They make me sleepy... But they still sound great!

Buying the soundtrack seems a good idea. You don't usually have time to appreciate the music during the movie because you're so involved in the plot and comparing it to the books...so i might buy the soundtrack this time

Although I'm not a big fan of soundtracks this one interests me. The GOF was all right especially during the suspense scenes. I'm not sure if I'd pay 18 bucks for a soundtrack, but to HP there are some exceptions.

I don't think I'd want to hear the soundtrack before seeing the movie. I think it might give away key moments.
