The soundtrack for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie will be released on Tuesday, July 10 in the U.S. and is now available
for pre-order through Amazon for $18.98.
The score for the movie was done by Nicholas Hooper, which HPANA exclusively announced back in April of last year. At this time no additional information has been released as to the contents but we will be sure to update as soon as we hear anything.

Thats interesting. this one is done by Nicholas Hooper by the way. I've never heard of him, but I'll probably pick this up. Still, the series' music just hasn't been the same since John Williams left, and I doubt this guy could replace him any better than Patrick Doyle did.

I only have one soundtrack so far - from sorcerer's stone. We play it on Halloween outside for the trick-or-treaters, since the house is always decorated HP. They love it - recognize the music instantly.

I forget who the composer is but I heard that David Yates and him had clobaorated before on one of Yate's previous projects/productions, I know it will be lovely. I'm so excited about this film! My dream for the Harry Potter films is to one day see them win a golden globe or oscar, and David Yates is such a wonderful more indi director, I am very excited to see his work, Order of the Pheonix is also favorite book of the series, probaly because it's so long. The more the merrier. July, Julu, July!!

I have to say that i am not a big fan of film soundtracks.
There are very VERY few films that i would actually go out and buy the soundtrack to (like Dirty Dancing for example) but i'm sorry to say that Harry Potter is not one of them.
I only like the theme tune, and that's about it to tell the truth!

As Boromir lives said, the composer for OOTP is Nicholas Hooper. It won't be Patrick Doyle or John Williams, although I think it is mandatory that Hooper keeps Williams's signature themes and probably some of Doyle's as well.

He's worked with David Yates on previous movies, so it was expected for him to sign on. And no, Patrick Doyle or John Williams will not be back for this movie. Maybe the final two films, but who knows?

THis is something I love from Harry Potter, the music. I liked all the albums so far, even if it wasn't Williams that made the last one but DOyle made a great job anyway... hope this one is as good as the last.
