Scholastic announced
back in March news of their publicity campaign for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and let fans know that they will be posting 7 questions for voting and discussion. The first question, released today, is "Who will live, Who will die?"
You can vote here for your choices:
Harry Potter
Lord Voldemort
Snape
Ginny
Ron
Hermione
Neville
Hagrid
Draco Malfoy
Someone Else/Other
The next question will be released on May 1st.
7 Questions of Harry Potter campaign - Beginning on April 17 2007, Scholastic will release one question every two weeks. These are the big questions fans debate at great length online, at book clubs and in everyday conversations, and that they hope J.K. Rowling will answer in this final installment. The questions will be posted on scholastic.com and released through advertising and publicity outlets. The final question will be released on July 7th.

This is going to be fun. It made me sad to have to decide who I thought was going to die. I really hate to think that any of them other than Voldemort is going to die. This will help with the pre-release jitters.

the poll results seem to be quite weird. Not many people are favoring any deaths for that matter not even Voldemort's. Isn't that strange? I mean how can Voldemort not die?

It is really quite amazing that most of the people taking the survey think that no one will die! I would have thought that there would have been some clear "dies" choices given the field of candidates.

Its so exciting in that it makes the lead up to the book more fun but why does evryone want ginny to live! Harry's love must come to a very morbid end in my opinion. Also LV will die because thats what he fears the most isn't it?

Ah well. I know that many (including myself) were hoping that the questions would actually hint at events of the book, but now I doubt it. One of the next questions will probably be "Who is RAB?", and we've already exaughsted that one within fandom ourselves. :( Still, it is fun to let our opinions be known on a larger scale.

I think it's interesting that so many people think Harry will live... at hpana's poll, I think close to a third said Harry would die.
Personally, I think he'll be somewhere between life and death at the end, him and Voldemort both, so it's kind of hard to vote in polls like this.

Ooh, that's really cool!!! I voted for a few of them to die... I'm surprised that so many people have Voldemort marked as surviving; I'd think he'd almost have to die. But that's just me, and that's what I voted for!!! I really like the 7 questions idea. It's a good way to pass the time till DH, thinking about the questions.

Alright, this is just plain crazy. The voters are voting for practically everybody to live, including Voldemort. I mean, come on, seriously somebody has to die. A few somebodies have to die. It has been spoken already. I think Harry will live though, call it wishful thinking or whatever you want, but he lives!

I just voted and I am really surprised to see that so many have voted for Voldy and Snape to live. Personally, I can't see this series ending with Voldy still alive. I want Snape to be redeemed but I feel he may be one that dies.
Oh well, I am really excited about this book and am really anxious for it to come out.
