At the beginning of the month we told you of a special airing of American Idol
featuring stars from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as well as other well know actors and singers. The show aired last night and tonight, benefiting CPEF but as some of you have pointed out Daniel Radclife did not appear as expected.
We do however have video of Helena and other stars lip-syncing to the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive."

We will try to update this story as to why Dan did not appear.

For some strange reason I'd been expecting them to have celebrities sing something short and then be mock-judged like they did with Jack Black. :) Ah, well. I'm not too dissapointed Dan didn't do it. I mean, She only got four or five seconds worth of screen time lip-synching! Why see Dan lip-synch when we can see him do air guitar on one of those really old video clips at Leaky?

I am looking forward to seeing Helena Bonham Carter, everything I have seen her in has been great. I would not have originally thought of her for this role but she is such a good actress that I know it will be great.

Did they ever find out why Radcliffe did not appear, I had thought it was going to be a two night showing in which he would have appeared on one or the other nights. Or at least that is the impression I had been given, from some of the news I have read so far.

Huh, that's strange that Dan didn't appear on the show. I usually don't watch American Idol but I did that night because I thought Dan was going to be on. *shrugs* At least we got to see this, though! I love HBC.
