As has been rumored on the web, HPANA can now confirm several premieres of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix around the world this year.
Japan will once again be honored with a red carpet premiere (possibly the world premiere, June 28, unconfirmed). The Odeon Leicester Square in London will host that country's premiere on July 3. Los Angeles will see an event July 8.

That's great news. I would love to go to the UK premiere but it's on a college day and I live in the North west of England which is too far away to travel. I'll definitely watch all the coverage from it on TV or online though.

I don't understand why Japan is getting these world premiere gifts. Harry Potter should have its world premiere in England, where Harry is from! And Spider-Man should have had it in New York where he's from. But whatever.
Anyhoo, I am hopefully going to get a study abroad option to go to London for the fall of 2008 meaning I would hopefully be there to see the premiere of HBP!!! I'm very stoked about that. Especially because it's Alan Rickman's big role and so he'll probably be there. I'd die if I got to meet him, however briefly!

Man, I really wish I lived in an area like New York or LA where stuff like that could potentially happen. The only place where anything interesting like a movie premiere would be remotely possible near me is the Mall of America, but otherwise, that's all. But either way, I still get to see the red carpet pics, which are always fantastic.
