Last month a Warner Bros. representative reviewed
areas in Scotland for filming locations for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is set to start filming later this year. The locations featured caves and cliffs which may suit key scenes in the movie.
The main locations that were checked out were:
You may remember that in February we had a report that Warner Bros. had also scouted out areas
in Ireland for possible filming. We will all find out later this year which area won out.

Scotland's always been the place for the movie and I'm glad they're still scouting there for the HP movies. It would be great to see some filming in Ireland as well. I'm surprised filming is starting later this year, that's kind of early.

They should co;me to Alberta and British Columbia. We have ANAZING mountians and lakes. If you've seen the first movie, durring quiddich when you see Hagrid, and the background looks fake, It looks like the mountians by the place called Bruel Lake. It's awsome. It even looks fake when you look across the river when it's clouds. It's weird.

That's awesome! I wish I was in the UK so I could be a part of these films! Too bad they never will shoot a scene here in Vegas!

That's pretty cool. They are starting to scout out areas to start the filming of the next movie. I wonder when they will start the filming. I bet it will be sometime after the summer movie season ends, probably in the fall or winter?

Yeah.. I guess it would be difficult to find a cave in those proportions and detail...... The coast in the picture looks good.

Glad they're lookign for real places rather than doing it purely on set. GoF did too much on set in my opinion... but you wouldn't guess it.

It's pretty cool that they're thinking of using real caves, i assumed they would construct fake ones. Also, i've been near a couple of the places they're checking out!

That would be so cool if HBP is filmed in Scotland. Cape Wrath looks like it would be perfect for the movie, according to the picture.
I can't wait to hear the decision on whether filming is going to be in Scotland. Hopefully it will. That would be nice.

This would be such a great job to just go out and look for places that could be in the book. Scotland looks so beautiful anyway. It will be really neat to see the infamous cave come to life!

The third location sounds like a good choice, because it says it is a string of mountains a caves next to each other. And the picture is really beuatiful, like scotlsnd is.

I would have thought this scene would be digitally constructed or on a sound stage, but it would be cool if it was an actual cave.

I am looking forward to finding out which locations will be chosen. My dream is to go on one of those tours which specializes in showing various locations where scenes from the Potter have been filmed.
