With the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie set to be released in a few weeks, details are surfacing on an upcoming casting call and filming location for the Half-Blood Prince movie. We also hear from director David Yates, confirming, in person, that he will be directing the sixth movie.
Warner Bros. are looking for a teenage boy and girl to play the parts of Lavender Brown and Tom Riddle with auditions taking place at Earl's Court in London on July 1st and 8th. According to the press release for both characters people should be between 15-18 years of age and a resident of the UK or Ireland. You can read all the information for the auditions here

Some filming for the movie will take place at Lacock in Wiltshire, with scenes filmed in autumn. You may remember that scenes featuring the Abbey's cloisters were in the first two movies:
The crew are set to return in the autumn and this time the focus is on the parts of the village close to The Angel and Church Street and the Abbey Cloisters will be used if the weather is bad.
This morning I attended a press junket for the movie where director David Yates and producer David Heyman confirmed for all that Yates will be directing the next movie. You can hear a snippet of their comments here (1.98 MB, WMA, please remember to right-click & save target as...).

It's a shame that they cannot have the same person from CoS play Tom Riddle in HBP.

Yeah, I agree with those who said that Christian Coulson, who played Tom Riddle in CoS, was perfect for the role, adn would be for the teenage as well as the 20-something-year-old Riddle. Why are they re-casting him then? Of course, he couldn't pull off an 11-year old, but the auditions don't mention they need an 11-yr-old actor, do they?

I'm debating whether to audition for Lavender...it's not exactly the most attractive role and I don't much fancy the cringy wet kisses she has with Ron, as portrayed in the book.

Lacock again! I've been there. Not the abbey, it was closed by the time we got there, but I went to the George Inn Pub (best meal ever) and we walked around a bit. I think these locations may be used for the opening when Bella and Narcissa go to Snape's house!!! Think about it, when else would we be seeing a really old Muggle village street? On the way to Snape's!! Cool. I want to see if they film at a house there so I can go back and take a picture of Snape's house. hehe. And I just want to eat at the pub again.

I mean, there was one movie I saw where this fifty year old women played the role of an 18 year old and she didnt look fifty at all. I think they need to cast Christian again because whenever I read "Tom Riddle", I think of him. As for Lavender, I always imagined her to be a brunette(dont know why).

I'm an actress, and you have no idea how hard it is to get such an audition for an epic movie when you have little or no experience, it's almost impossible! They are so lucky! I wish I lived in the UK! I guess they aren't using the actor who played Tom Riddle in the second movie. Are they holding auditions for Merope or did they already cast someone? I could play her, she doesn't talk or anything! Oh well, it'll be an enjoyable movie anyhow.
