At the Harry Potter press conference on Saturday, producer David Heyman was tightlipped when responding to a question about whether a certain character was cut from Order of the Phoenix:
"Jo reads each draft," David Heyman had said. "She reads each screenplay, and she said, 'You know, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Or you can, but if you get to make a seventh film, you'll be tied in knots.'" "Which character was it?" the Boston Herald asked. "I thought you might ask that," Heyman teased. "I'm not going to say."
Well, director David Yates has now let slip to MTV"It was Kreacher, actually," director David Yates confirmed to MTV News on Sunday. "We took Kreacher out, and Jo said, 'Listen guys, you don't have to put Kreacher back, but I'm just telling you, if you want to kind of keep a thread going for six and seven, you might want Kreacher to come back.' She basically told us Kreacher plays a role in Seven, in a sense. She hinted. We thought about it for five seconds, and he came back."
What you won't see in the Kreacher scenes, however, is him squirreling away any artifacts such as, say, a mysterious locket no one can open. "Bad David!" Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, teased his director about the locket's absence. "It was kind of tricky to raise that in our story, because it's for so much later," Yates said. “We figured we can probably introduce it later, and that’s the approach we took."

That's not that much of a spoiler. I was kind of upset they took Mrs. Weasley out of 4 and look, now they need her in 5 and 6. I wish they would make a 5 hour version of OoTP. I'd watch it, with an intermisssion.

I read only the first part of this story and was careful to avoid seeing what Mr. Heyman said about the character that was not cut out of the movie. I can't bear to know anything before I see the movie.

Hahahaha, Daniel Radcliffe is hilarious! Joking around with David about not having the locket in there. Well, in a matter of speaking, I think it's good they don't have the locket in yet. It doesn't come into the real story line until book six, and so many people will be wondering "Where's the locket? What's up with the locket?" That they may just forget about everything else, I know I did.
Well, this is the first spoiler alert I've read...and it's not that big of a deal. I knew Kreacher would have a role in the next book, maybe he goes to Lucius Malfoy with a HUGE secret or something. Only JKR knows it all.

OOOhhhh I wish I could read who it was!!! But I kind of don't though, I am sure it would spoil it. I am sure it is Sirius though. But my question is how would David know who to cut out of book 7 if he hasn't even read it yet???

Hrmm. Isnt that how they approach a lot of things in the film? honestly. As for Kreacher's role in book 7, Im not too suprised actually. Its great to know Jo tells the producers what they need to do (: you go.

Very interesting indeed!
I had an inkling that it was Kreacher on the cover of the Deathy Hallows, and I'm going to say "I KNEW IT!!!"
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but either way, you can't cut something as huge as Kreacher out of the movie.
Good to see that JKR has a say in the screenplays! Very very excited now and very happy I am!!!!

Whaaat... they tried to take out Kreacher? But that's just stupid! Kreacher was the one who tricked them into going to the Ministry of Magic, right? Oh dear, and you think these directors are smart. Heh, I can't believe David Yates told MTV of all the companies after David Heyman made sure he said nothing. Oh well, at least we know now - and I can't believe they're not including the locket thing - the locket thing's important! Kreacher's back in DH? Oh no!
