It would seem that Scholastic, the U.S. publishers of the Harry Potter books, have released their seventh and final question
in the lead-up to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on July 21st, 2007. The last question, which was scheduled to be released on July 7th asks "What are the Deathly Hallows?"
You can choose one of these answers below in their poll:
We'll find out right away
We'll find out in the middle
We'll find out at the end
You can also download
all the bookmarks from the site.
Scholastic also give the results
from previous questions:
Question 1: WHO WILL LIVE AND WHO WILL DIE? We are quickly approaching the 8.6 million vote mark and 99% of voters think that Harry will live while only 19% of voters think Voldemort will die.
Question 2: IS SNAPE GOOD OR EVIL? Almost 113,000 votes received and 70% of the fans think Snape is good. It is a tie at 35% each as to whether he is a spy for the Order or is in too deep with Voldemort.
Question 3: WILL HOGWARTS REOPEN? Over 90,000 votes received and an astounding 95% of voters feel that Hogwarts will reopen. 55% of those voters don't think Harry, Ron and Hermione will be back for their last year.
Question 4: WHO WILL END UP WITH WHOM? Over 762,000 votes have been received and 2 couples are running neck and neck. Harry and Hermione are in the lead with 42% of the votes, but not far behind are Ron and Hermione with 35% of the votes.
Question 5: WHERE ARE THE HORCRUXES? Almost 75,00 votes have been tallied and they are spread out pretty evenly, the most votes, 23% go to Godric's Hollow with Hogwarts and "Elsewhere" a close second at 20% each. The rest of the locations each received between 3% and 6% of the votes.
Thanks to Paul and Sarah for the tip.

I voted for in the middle. I think in the beggining would give too much away and in the end would make it too short. I have now answered all seven. It was a fin poll.

How is "Hallows" said? Like Godric's Hallow? or the Hallow in Halloween? or like Halo, angels wear?

I think they're referring to the horcrux's. So if that's the case than right in the beginning....or before then, even into HBP.

Hmm... actually, I think we'll find out closer to the beginning. We did for the Half-Blood Prince. And the Order of the Phoenix. And the Goblet of Fire. Or maybe it's something that's been in the series before, that we already know about, but we don't know what it really is... a very thought-provoking question.

I'm guessing it has something to do with Voldy and Harry facing off, therefore, we'll find out at the end, just like we did in HBP.

GRED+FORGE says:
A Hallow is a saint that's why we call "All Hallows Eve" Halloween. The next day is call "Saint's Day" or "Hallow's Day."
So the question shouldn't be "what" but "who" are the deathly hallows?
I think it was a group of death eaters that wanted get rid of voldemort including R.A.B. and Snape...

Great question. Hard to tell when we will learn about. My guess it will be in the very begining or at the very end for the last scene. Not too much longer until the wait is over.

While I think there will be clues all throughout the book, I'd say we should probably have an idea by the middle.

Does anyone else think the answers don't really match the question? Why didn't they just ask 'When will we find out what Deathly Hallows are?

I agree with Weesa, I think we need to watch for clues all though the book. But I think more to the end of the book is when we find out what it means.

Gred+Forge, that's an interesting argument. I think you might be on to something there...

The question doesn't really match the answers, when someone asks you "What are the Deathly Hallows?" I would think to answer something like the Diary or Marvolo's Ring.
