to an interview with the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix composer, Nicholas Hooper. He discusses working with David Yates, being a fan of the books before he got the job, what he thinks of the movie, music wise and how he came up with the music for the movie.

AH I cant wait to pop the new soundtrack into my CD player in my car and drive home from work being stressed out from the kids and I can listen to the WONDERFUL relaxing Harry Potter music to calm me down :o)

I saw the film last week and was really impressed with the score! I don't usually notice the music so much while watching films, but his music is so much different than the previous composers. I thought he did a really nice job. :)

I think that there will be a lot to listen for in this new score, and while I think it would be very unfair to compare to John Williams, that cannot be avoided. I just want the music to fit the theme and tone of the film.

I have yet to listen to the soundtracks. I am sure they are great. I didn't realize how much work went into these. I do wonder what influences him to pick the music. I love that the music sounds darker now.

I love it when REAL fans are involved with the movies. I think it makes them better. Nicholas Hooper is amazing, and I can't think about the books or movies without hearing the HP score in my mind.

It's great that he was able to keep the music just as good for OoTP as John Williams did for the first 4. They are both excellent composers. And I'm very glad he brought back Hedwig's theme.
