Jim Dale, the U.S. narrator of the Harry Potter series, is one of the few people in the world who knows how
the Harry Potter series ends.
Dale finished recording for the audio for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book over two months ago, a process that took two-and-a-half weeks and is sworn to secrecy as to how it ends.
He has recorded every single word of the series, amounting to 117 hours and 4 minutes, won a Grammy and holds the record for creating the most voices in an audiobook in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Mr. Dale will be at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York this Friday, July 21 where he will discuss
how he got the role of narrator, how he creates his characters’ voices and read excerpts from the previous books. After the release of the last book in the series he will do a tour of Houston, Washington, Charlotte, N.C. and Philadelphia.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in hardback, braille, deluxe version and audio Cassette/CD on Friday, July 21st.

I love Jim Dale! I used to listen to the Harry Potter audio books all the time when I couldn't sleep, but they just kept me up because of the voices Jim Dale created for the characters. I just wanted to keep listening to how he carried the story line. Of all the secrets their are in the world, keeping the ending quiet is probably one of the hardest things to do, since so many people are speculating over it.

Wow he must be getting bugged by everyone! I do like listening the audio books but where I'm so use to the actors voices it takes a bit of getting use to hearing someone else.

His audio books are just great. I have them all and they are a great way to get another view of Harry Potter. Don't miss Stephen Fry as well. He has a different way of telling the story.

I've never heard an audio book. It is worth the award, there are so many characters in the books. It has to be hard to remember all the diferent voices.

I bet it is neat knowing how the story ends before the rest of us, but I'm sure it's also hard since he can't discuss it with anyone and people must bother him about it.

I've always loved listening to Jim Dale's recordings of the book for he does such a good job at it. Can any one tell me what other books he's read for, if any, because I'd love to listen to him even if the book itself is bad.

I hope he doesn't accidentally let it slip. Just imagine being one of only a handful of people who know the ending!
I don't think I'd be able to handle the pressure.
P.S. NOT LONG TO GO!

That would be such a tough secret to hold...not to the public, naturally, but to your wife or kids. Of course that's how things slip, you tell someone you think you are able to trust, and it leaks out.
