Jim Dale, the U.S. narrator of the Harry Potter series, is one of the few people in the world who knows how
the Harry Potter series ends.
Dale finished recording for the audio for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book over two months ago, a process that took two-and-a-half weeks and is sworn to secrecy as to how it ends.
He has recorded every single word of the series, amounting to 117 hours and 4 minutes, won a Grammy and holds the record for creating the most voices in an audiobook in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Mr. Dale will be at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York this Friday, July 21 where he will discuss
how he got the role of narrator, how he creates his characters’ voices and read excerpts from the previous books. After the release of the last book in the series he will do a tour of Houston, Washington, Charlotte, N.C. and Philadelphia.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in hardback, braille, deluxe version and audio Cassette/CD on Friday, July 21st.

I would be so scared to know what Happend. It's such a huge responsiblity. And I wouldnt want to spill something! But I'm sure he's doing a fine job of hiding what he knows.

My husband has all the previous CD's. He says Mr. Dale is one of the best at recording books that he has ever heard. You can really tell he cares about the books just in the effort he puts into his readings.

I've never listened to the audio books -- but it's fascinating that he does the voices for all the characters!

He's certainly been good at keeping this a secret!
Must of been tempted many times, no doubt.

Jim Dale is the best. I have all of the books in print and audio. My daughter said when she was pregnant that the baby was going to think Jim Dale was his daddy becasue that is the male voice he heard the most during her pregnancy.

That has got to be one of the hardest kept secrets known to man to keep. I honestly don't envy Mr. Dale right now at all. I bet everyone is bugging him to find out how it ends.

I guess he's lucky in the sense that he got to read the book early.I know I would have loved to get my hands on it.But I can't imagine having people hounding me all the time about the plot of the book. That might drive me a little crazy. Also, there are some really crazy people in this world. It might not be safe that everyone knows that you know what happens in the book. Some people go to extreme links to get what they want. That theory may be a little out there but hey it's just a thought that would definately cross my mind if I knew the plot before most others.

I remember reading this when HBP came out. I though it was so cool that he knew the ending before all of us.
But it really wouldn't be the same knowing the ending when others didn't. I wouldn't pay anything to have the book before everybody else.

After I have read the book I think I'll get a hold of the audio books and have a listen. I think it would put a whole different spin on the books.
Only 2 days and I'm totally excited!!!

I hope Jim Dale has some heavy security of his own! What if some crazed muggle tried to get some information out of him? I personally think that Mr. Dale would make a much better Dumbledore in the films (as would any number of other actors) than the current holder of the role.

Ohh..I love him, I've only had the opportunity to listen to one of the books and it was excellent! If they weren't so expensive I would buy them as well but as it is they are almost a full arm. I wish I could lock him in a room for a few hours though-he would have some great info...;) Oh well only a few more days I suppose.
