Contrary to numerous web site stories Naomi Watts, Joseph Fiennes and Stuart Townsend are not
scheduled to appear in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie, according to their representatives.
Filming for the movie is set to start in late September and casting news should be announced in the coming weeks. Please don't believe everything you read on the web until official word is released.

Ralph Fiennes is Voldemort, not Joseph Fiennes.
And I will stick to what I have always said. Unless someone dies, they should not be replaced. WB needs to get it into their heads that these actors are how people see these characters (well at least the film fans do), and if they are replaced, they will loose truck loads of fans. Don't think I didn't notice the Patil twins changes.
And I do hope that HBP doesn't turn out like a telemovie the way that OOTP turned out.
You know, I don't think I am going to see that movie more than once, and I will wait until the DVD is on special in the bargain bin before I buy it - and only for the extra scenes - IF they make a 2 disc edition.
What is the best way to contact WB? I want to ask them to get a different director for movie 7. Its a bit late now for movie 6. I just hope he doesn't ruin it, but looking at OOTP, I betcha all the Snape and Draco moments will be reduced to 3 second snippets. At least the original screenplay writer has returned for this and the last movie.
Oh, and Naomi Watts would make a horrible Narcissa. You need someone who has an expressive face that can play harsh and cruel, not someone who is just bubbly.
I can't think of anyone British, but faces that come to mind are Michelle Pfieffer and Anjelica Huston. They are for one, not Brittish and 2, well, they don't look 30 (well, Michelle might) Both of these two ladies can look very sweet and kind, and they can both do angry and scary. That's the kind of actress that's needed. Remember Harry's description - that she looked like there was something horribly smelly under her nose. Bubbly is not Narcissa.

I am so glad HBP is coming out next year. If I am not mistaken the only time two of the movies released in consecutive years was from SS/PS then COS.

thats too bad. Joseph fiennes is a good actor, and would be interesting (visual) parallel for the muggle prime minister. Stuard townsend, I assume, would have been Bill Weasley, another good actor, good looking, but perhaps too haughty to be a weasley. well have to wait and see. As for Naomi-- NO! She's fine as an actor, but too young and too "nice" to be Narcissa. I think Juliet Stevenson would be a good narcissa-- she can be downright crafty, even evil, is somewhat pretty but has that snotty poo under nose look.

Aww,too bad Stuart Townsend won't be in HBP.
I absolutely loved him as Lestat in "Queen Of The Damned". He'd make a perfect Tom Riddle Sr. (he looks too aristocratic to play a Weasley, especially Bill who I picture as a rocker).

I can't wait for HBP. The book is much shorter (160 pages) than OOTP so then they won't have to cut out much. I don't mind if they cut out what happened in the first chapter, some of the quidditch and some of the lessons. Just as long as they leave it at that, then the film will be perfect. Don't get me wrong, I liked OOTP, it's just that I was a bit disappointed at how much was cut out. They will probably add one or two minor things that they left out in OOTP to HBP.
Can't wait to see who has been cast in the film.

I thought that was Ralph Finnes not coming back as well! I would be devestated if he did not come back, he is the perfect LV.
I also want Stuart Townshend to return, I love it when characters return.

I'm sure we will see the actors we need to see in the movies. It could be that they are not needed for the HBP movie or it will be nothing more than a cameo appearance. We'll just to wait and see.

The rumor was that Stuart Townsend was going to play Bill Weasely.
Rachel Weisz would make a good Narcissa.
When are we going to have a forum for movie 6? I'm ready to start speculating! :)

Rachel Weisz: 0
Kristen Scott Thomas: 0
Juliet Stevenson: 0

I certainly hope that the negotiations can be completed, and there are no conflicts that keep these previous cast members off the set. There has been such a great continuity of members that it would seem a shame to not keep them together.
