A new New Wizard of the Month
for August has been added on JK Rowling's web site.
Rowena Ravenclaw
Medieval (precise dates unknown)
One of the four famous Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Rowena Ravenclaw was the most brilliant witch of her time, though legend has it that a broken heart - cause unknown - contributed to her early demise.

I assume her broken heart was because her daughter Helena stole the diadem, then when she sent the Bloody Baron (we never did find out his real name, did we?) to bring her back, both of them ended up dead. So she lost her daughter, and in a way, brought about her death herself by sending the Baron after her, as he killed her. Just what I assume to be the case.
