The first pictures
of Daniel Radcliffe from his upcoming film My Boy Jack have appeared on the web. The television movie will air later this year on ITV in the UK and U.S. public television station PBS has bought the rights to air the movie via it's Masterpiece Theatre series.
The movie synopsis:
The true story looks at how Rudyard Kipling used his influence to get his 17-year-old son Jack (played by Radcliffe) a commission with the Irish Guards, despite his son's poor eyesight.
Jack went missing in action during the Battle of Loos and his mother and father carried out an ardent search for him, spanning many years and many miles of soul-destroying discovery.
UPDATE: Thanks to HPT
for letting us know that you can see additional pictures from the set of the movie here

Yes, he does rather look like Adolf Hilter in that uniform but thankfully that's not at all who he's playing!
Dan looks great!

What a heart-wrenching sounding movie! I'm very interested in the WWI setting too. Dan surely looks the part. I, too, am so impressed with Dan. He makes really interesting, intelligent choices of roles and, as we've seen with OotP and Equus, he is certianly up to the challanges he chooses! Good luck to him! I'll be looking for this on PBS later in the year!

I thinks he looks very different with this moustache but it's another character and he's really unrecognisable like Jack. I mean, I probably wouldn't have known it's Daniel if the picture didn't say so.

Wow! Dan looks so different, and yet... not. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that we in the U.S. will be able to see the Television Movie as well as those in the U.K. Usually, we don't get to see the finished products for at least a year later. Hopefully, we won't have to wait that long. We'll see!

I hate to say this, but he looks like a "Mini Hitler"!!! This is not a good look for him, what looks horrible is the mustache. The hear, it sort of looks good, but that mustache has got to go.
I can't believe its going to air on PBS!!! I have to see this, I bet he's going to be great in it.

Wow, he looks so different! WOW! He's so much older looking now. i'm really glad that he's getting other roles then Harry Potter, this is just another step to make sure that he does a smooth transition into adult acting. Good for him.

Oh my gosh! It doesn't even look like Dan! Wow! That's amazing how he can change his look like that! I very happy to hear that PBS bought the rights to it so that we in the USA can watch it on Masterpiece Theatre! I'm glad that I'll have a chance to see it!

OH MY GOD? What have they done to him?!? Haha, just kidding. It's just that he looks soooo different. Wow!
But I'm so glad that he's doing so many different things. Dan is definetly not going to be just another one of those child stars that get lost over the years. Good for him!
I can't wait to see this movie and December Boys too.

Well, if anyone had any doubts as to whether Dan could actually do anything else other than Harry Potter - this definitely proves that this is only the start of BIG THINGS!
He looks awesome - so grown-up (*sniff!*).

Daniel looks very handsome in his uniform, though I admit to being a bit taken aback by seeing him with a moustache. Hopefully this will be a good movie and we can enjoy watching him do something other than play Harry (which I don't mind at all, by the way) on the big screen.
