In a lecture to fans recently, John Williams said "with confidence" that he thinks he will be back to score the final Harry Potter movie, according to a report
.
Nicholas Hooper will score David Yates' Half-Blood Prince, due out next year. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is expected to be released in 2010.

I think he will be back. Actually any of them would be grand. BUt the music is the uilding blcok of a movie. A scary movie with nature music is not scary. Music sets the tone and mood.

The first two movie soundtracks are great and kind of similar to one another. Then Williams gave a different theme to Prisoner, still a great soundtrack. The last two movie soundtracks where ok. I think they where just ok because of the lack of John Williams talent. I really hope they give him the last movie and we are treated to one last great soundtrack.

I would love to John Williams to return for the final film! I do love his pieces so much. It would be great if he could return and Chris Columbus also. I think that they would do a wonderful job to finish out the series as the did to start it.

Am I the only person who thinks that change is good? I like what Patrick Doyle and Nicholas Hooper brought musically to the Harry Potter series. I am personally tired of John Williams. All of his stuff sounds the same.
This seems like the same lame ongoing discussion to dig Richard Harris and make his body play Dumbledore. Sorry for my rant but can't we use some imagination for a change?

Okay, first things first - he gave a lecture to his fans? That's just mean. Well, maybe it was a lecture in music or something. Well, duh, of course it was.
I really want him to come back for Deathly Hallows. I mean, without doubt, Nicholas Hooper is a great composer - the soundtrack for OotP was great, but it was too different from what I was used to thinking of when I thought of Harry Potter.
I really hope he comes back!
