In a lecture to fans recently, John Williams said "with confidence" that he thinks he will be back to score the final Harry Potter movie, according to a report
.
Nicholas Hooper will score David Yates' Half-Blood Prince, due out next year. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is expected to be released in 2010.

I definitely remember his scores more than the others so I'm definitely glad he'll be back to finish off the series.
It'll make the ending of the series a little more bearable, i suppose.

Hmmm ... I don't know whether I'm that excited by this news or not. Yes, he's amazing, but I also loved what Nicholas Hooper did with Order of the Phoenix too!

Too bad Williams won't be scoring HBP, it should be his, he is brilliant.
I hope that Williams will be there for the final, DH, he should be so much of what we think of when we think of HP is due to his work.

Well...I have always liked his music....but I really don't know why he hasn't been doing the movie's music for the past couple of movies. He should have been doing the music for all the movies.

I really wish he can return for HBP! But if not, he really should for the last movie at least!
I love his musical scoring of the 3rd -- its still his music that rings in my ear. I love it. The scorer for the 4th movie is also good -- but his music lacks the same intensity and drama and magic as John Williams' pieces. John Williams actually had more number music material for the 3rd too!
My favorite is "A Window to the Past" --> goodness its haunting! As haunting as his 3 compostions for Star Wars (Luke Skywalker's Theme, Leia's Theme and Darth Vader's Theme) -- just wow!

Oi! That makes me think -- John Williams should also compose a theme each for the trio -- plus Dumbledore, Snape and Voldemort! Hedwig already has one!
Hedwig's Theme -- is actually already like the Harry Potter theme. He needs to do a "Ron Weasley Theme" that will be played in the Silver Doe-Locket Horcrux scene!
