.
Nicholas Hooper will score David Yates' Half-Blood Prince, due out next year. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is expected to be released in 2010.

Oi! That makes me think -- John Williams should also compose a theme each for the trio -- plus Dumbledore, Snape and Voldemort! Hedwig already has one!
Hedwig's Theme -- is actually already like the Harry Potter theme. He needs to do a "Ron Weasley Theme" that will be played in the Silver Doe-Locket Horcrux scene!
Hermione's Theme
Dumbledore's Theme
Snape's Theme
Voldemort's Theme

John Williams is an unimaginative moron. Listen to Star Wars and all you get is a rehash of Wagner. He hasn't composed a wholly original note in his life.

I love Williams and his music and Im glad he'll be back for the final film, but I must say that Hooper did a really good job for OOtP.

Oh dear, I'm going to be one of the few not to be pleased at this news. His music is good, but he isn't the best. He no longer needs to make a name for himself and I guess it must be tempting for him to stick to quite bland stuff. I'd love to see a relatively unknown composer try the film. It worked for Amelie with Yann Tiersen so it isn't unprecedented.

Ouch. David Yates for HBP? Again? I'd prefer Cuaron or Newell. I think Williams rocks and he'd be suitable. i think GOF soundtrack is the best.

That would be absolutley brilliant! His music was the best! The other composers did very well, and made a good go of it-but come on! Who can compete with him! Some of them weren't even smart enough to include the HP "theme" sone at the begining! Come on now it's a must! I care not what the rest sounds like as long as the theme song is at the begining! It just gives me that HP feel.

We has done a good job previously, but Yates may prefer to keep Hopper for Film 7, if Yates directs the last film.

I hope that he comes back. John Williams did an excellent job on the first 3 movies and I would love to have him come back and direct the 7th movie's music.
I hope that whoever directs DH will let John Williams come back.

He seems so confident he's getting the movie. It's a big deal if he messed up the last movie... No one would forgive him.

That's always good. We can't have a new character for the last movies. Although the first Dumbledore was excellent, he is good as well.

Although Phoenix's soundtrack wasn't too bad, I miss the excitement of Williams' score.
Besides Hedwig's Theme will have a whole new meaning in the 7th movie.

While I have been a fan of John Williams since Jaws, and I think that Hedwig's theme is absolutely great, I will wait to reserve judgment until I hear what Nicholas Hooper does with HBP. I really enjoyed the music from OotP, and I am not sure if it's due to being more aware of it, or because I actually liked it better. We'll see...
