With filming to start on Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince later next month comes news that some filming of the movie will take place at Lacock Abbey where scenes from the first two movies were filmed.
According to the article
:
But the filming crews want to return to Lacock with many of the main characters to capture a series of spooky night scenes for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the protagonist Potter, is set to be involved in the local filming.
The movie-making teams now have permission to return for four days in October and film scenes between 5pm and 5am.
High Street and Church Street will be closed and the bus stop outside the George Inn looks set to be relocated for the duration.
Production on the movie is scheduled to start in September and if you happen to be at any area when filming is taking place and you won't get into trouble, try and send HPANA some pictures, we would really appreciate it.

Hm, night scenes... I'm guessing it could be the scene where Dumbledore takes Harry from the Dursleys... maybe the scenes with Narcissa and Bellatrix will be shot as well. Can't wait for set pics!!!

There's an excellent website from the BBC which shows a gallery of photographs from Lacock Abbey and which parts were used for which scenes of the Harry Potter movies. Check it out at:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wiltshire/interactive/galleries/lacock_potter/gallery.shtml#gallery
(Copy and paste into your browser). No this is not SPAM as I have nothing to gain from posting this link - it just shows heaps of photos of Lacock Abbey.
I had no idea that so much of Lacock Abbey was shown in the first two movies! It will be fantastic as it will give the Half-Blood Prince more authenticy (sp?).

That is so interesting! I have a video called The Perfect English Village. It's a documentary about a man going around England to find the perfect village and Lacock is one of the villages he visits during the show! Now it's going to be part of the Potter set! Wonderful!

Those who live around the area are quite fortunate indeed - then they could go and watch the filming take place, and perhaps even see the stars of the Harry Potter movies...
And no doubt this news is definitely going to increase the number of tourists coming to the area...

I can only assume the spooky night scenes have to do with the cave. I guess meeting Slughorn might be called spooky until we meet him.

Oh I forgot about Spinner’s End that qualifies as spooky. Also the tower scene is at night so that might be what they are talking about.

I am both disappointed and grateful that DH will not be out until 2010. Disappointed because it is so great that HBP is coming out a year after OOTP. And disappointed because it will be the end of Harry Potter. At least with the movies yet to be released we have something new to look forward to.
