This is great!! I expect that each new movie will surpass the others. Special effect will only get better. Acting will only get better. The story's become more complex. I am still not sure how they will cram such a large and good book into a short 2 hours of movie. Hopefully one of the directors will catch a clue and shoot for 3 hours!! Now THAT movie would break all previous HP movie records!

I didn't see the movie yet, I usually wait until it comes out on DVD(I hate going to movie theatres to watch movies). I'm not surprised that the movie was this successful, they just keep getting better. I'm happy Yates is directing the next one, I honestly hope he directs the last one.
I bet Deathly Hallows is going to be the number one movie ever made, it's been the number one book(out of all books) for about a month, and its number one on the list of fiction books, so the movie is going to be amazing. I hope Rupert, Emma and Dan play themselves as adults, they just have to make them look a lot older.

Of course it should have done brilliantly! The reviews were mostly fantastic, and the productions values and the acting abilities by all concerned have definitely improved since the 'kiddie flick' of Philosopher's Stone.
So no pressure for the last two movies then ...

HBP says:
I hope the movies track the books and get more successful with each new installment. The books built up more readership as each one was released. I think there are people who are fans that nevertheless are fans of the movies and do not read the books. However, my wife after seeing this last movie had to read the last book, which she did with a voracious appetite. hehehe.
I think the people who are really happy are those building the theme park. They were a bit worried that once the last book came out and everyone knew whether lived or died, that interest in Harry would fade. No evidence of this reflected in movie receipts so far.
