'OotP' on IMAX sets new record

In release only seven weeks on IMAX, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has set
a new record. The movie, which has shattered multiple IMAX box office records, has now earned $35 million worldwide.
The movie has garnered more than $24 million on 91 IMAX screens domestically and more than $11 million on 52 IMAX screens internationally, resulting in an impressive per screen average of $243,000 making it the highest grossing live-action Hollywood IMAX release.
According to Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment:
This film has become a huge summer hit for the IMAX(R) theatre network and Harry Potter fans have demonstrated that they love to experience their favorite wizard in IMAX 3D. Many of our locations throughout the worldwide IMAX network have reported box office records, thanks to a terrific film from talented filmmakers, exceptional marketing from Warner Bros. Pictures and the strong appeal of Hollywood movies presented in a truly unique and powerful way.

That is something that I've never done... seen a HP movie in IMAX. I hear that it's amazing and I'm not at all surprised that it breaks records, but there isn't an IMAX theatre close to me. Bummer!

That's so not surprising. Harry Potter will go on for ages, still popular. I really wanted to see it in IMAX, but I never got the chance. Oh well. I did see it in a special theater with a bigger screen.

No IMAX theatre round here, as far as I know, so I doubt I'll have an opportunty to experience the magic of Harry Potter in 3D. I hope the idea will be used in the two films to come. All due congratulations to the graphic team, who has contributed to the magic since the beginning. They must have a hard but exciting work.

Harry Potter on IMAX IS THE BOMB! i never actually wanted to go and watch it in imax because it's super expensive but i took the chance with HP (being a big fan and all) but seriously i had the most fun experience.
