A new New Wizard of the Month
for October has been added on JK Rowling's web site.
Harry Potter
(1980 - )
The Boy Who Lived, only known survivor of the Avada Kedavra curse and conqueror of Lord Voldemort, also known as Tom Riddle. Harry Potter joined the reshuffled Auror Department under Kingsley Shacklebolt at age 17, rising to become Head of said department in 2007.

Well, I just about cried, literally cried when I saw that this month its Harry. It made me feel all emotional. I assume Ron and Hermione will probably hold the honor as well sometime soon.

I agree. I would have liked for him to have finished school. How wonderful it would have been for him to be just a student in an ordinary school year with no problems to confront - just homework, Quidditch and his friends and let's not forget - girls!

So considering that he joined the Auror department at 17, that meant he didn't have to go back to complete his final year at Hogwarts, after all. I've always been wondering what he did after he defeated Voldemort, to before that 19 years later. Wonder how he got in without completing his education... must have been because of his magic prowess and skills, and what he'd done, that's why he got in.
Also, I also feel it's somehow weird that he became the Head of the department in 2007... of all years. I can't really explain it, but it's just... strange, that's all.

So he managed to be head of the auror department. How much help is he still getting from Hermione I wonder...I love Harry, but, geez, sometimes he is not so very bright.

So I never realized that Harry was older than me! That's pretty cool :) ...I'm sure she mentioned the year he was born in other books but I never put two and two together haha.

Alright, now Harry's gotten the honor of being WoM!! With that behind him, his life must be complete! :) Of course, after being the destoryer of the wizard world's evil, it had to be only a matter of time! And he just became head of the Auror department this year. Congrats, Harry!!
Hopefully the WoM will continue to be some of the book's main characters so we can keep learning about them.

Wicked! I love that she featured Harry as the wizard of the month! I hope she makes the wizard encyclopedia of all the characters she has created so far plus many more. It will be so much fun to read. Wouldn't it be cool if some of our character names from HPANA would sneak into her encyclopedia?
