We previously told you of the public schools that would be participating in J.K. Rowling's 'Open Book Tour,' we can now let you know that Scholastic have posted
their sweepstakes results of fans from the U.S. who will attend an evening with J.K. Rowling at Carnegie Hall on Friday, October 19th at 7 pm.
Canadian publishers, Raincoast, have also published
their list of attendees who meet the author at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto on October 23rd at 10 am.
At both events Rowling will read from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, answer questions from her fans and sign complimentary copies of the final book for every fan in attendance.
If you are attending either event please send us your memories and I hope to see you at Carnegie Hall on Friday, October 19th.

nooo!! I checked everyday and they said that they are "currently calling people." I'm so upset you don't even know. If anyone doesn't think they like Harry Potter as much as I do, could you sell it to me or give it to me or something?? I really want to go. I'm soo sad that I didn't get chosen

HP_obsessor, the tickets are non-transferable. Or were you talking about the autographed book?
I do get to go and it still feels completely unreal to me, even though I've had almost two weeks to get used to the idea. I think if it really hit me that I was going to see her, I would just explode on the spot, hehe.

This is something I REALLY would have liked to attended, as meeting Jo has been a dream of mine for seven years. She has been such an influence and role model on me, and given me the courage to pursue writing my own books. I submitted my name for the contest, but unfortunately was not selected. I offer many congratulations to those lucky enough to attend, and hope to see lots of pictures and written synopses from the event. Hopefully, another occasion like this will happen in the U.S. for more fans to get to meet her.

The only comfort I get in knowing that I'm not going to that exciting event is being able to at least hear about JK's responses to questions. I can't wait to hear more about the HP books - the backstory and stuff.

Congratulations to all those who won. I, too, was really pleased to see a wide range in age groups being selected. I really think that's the fairest thing to do seeing how Jo's fan base really is the most diverse, at least in my opinion. What a great event at a terrific location, and how luck you all are. I'm really glad some HPANA members are going that way the rest of us know we'll get honest, accurate reports on what happened and what it was like. Please do share with the rest us, won't you?
