In with a new interview with Harry Potter producer David Heyman, Heyman briefly discusses
the notable British thespians in the films and the fact that no matter the character or role they are all treated the same:
The smallest part is treated with the same attention and care as the lead roles. Not just in the casting, but also the directing.
Thanks to TLC
for letting us know about another interview
in which director David Yates says that he has found the person to play a young Riddle. The piece does mention that Ralph Fiennes' nephew, Titan Tiffin, has been cast as Tom Riddle:
I've found a really interesting kid to play Riddle. I can't tell you who it is yet - it's early days.
Please treat Yates' comments as rumor till confirmed by the studios.

Bright Eyes says:
Hmm, it'd be great if this Titan boy also looked like Ralph Fiennes - especially being related. After all, we see Voldemort at many stages before he transforms. And Fiennes does have such a unique appearance - interesting brow line. It's great that (even if it's rumour) that the search for Tom Riddle is well on it's way. The next film discovers so much about the young Voldemort. It's going to be quite a ride.

Why don't they just use the guy who played Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets film? It would keep of with the consistency of the movies, I think.

Well, we should definitley still treat this as a rumor, but it will be interesting to find out if it is really true. And I assume that his nephew will have some of Ralph's features seeing as they are related. This I think might actually work out for the better in the film. I guess we will have to wait within the next upcoming weeks as to who else will be cast for the film. Can't wait!

I still think that Christian Coulson the one who palyed Riddle on COS should be on this movie again. In my opinion he looks great, handsome, snobish, and evil.

Yay, they have a Tom Riddle. I am a little confused about what the actor's relationship is to the other guy though. Oh well, more HBP news is good.

Aren't they using the actor who played young Tom Riddle in Chamber of Secrets and why not? He looked exactly like the book Tom Riddle.

SO, Yates didn't say who it was, so the columnist is telling people it's Fiennes' nephew? That's kind of confusing, I agree!
They couldn't use that same boy from CoS (Christian Coulson, right?) since that was actually quite a few years ago, and they need someone for the first encounter with DD, when Riddle was 11. That actor is well into his 20's, and no amount of makeup could make him look the part!

To everyone who asked about Christian Coulson reprising his role of Tom Riddle, I don't think he'll be able to do that. He's way older than the kids who star in this film. He was born in 1978 which makes him 29 years old, probably too old to play a teenage boy. I am curious as to who they found to play the boy Tom Riddle. It would be interesting if it was Ralph Fiennes nephew but since it hasn't been confirmed by WB, I'll not get too excited just yet!

Yeah, of course he's older, look at the kids...they are now teenagers! But my stand is for them to look for a school boy Riddle then Christian can play the after school Riddle.
I really love Christian to reprise his role but I think Yates made up his mind.

Elphaba Thropp says:
Wow, isn't this turning into something out of Washinton D.C. The family with power automatically gets the job in government, and I guess the same thing applies for HBP---quite frankly, that is ridiculous. I think Christian Coulson could have done Riddle justice, he did the first time around...and so what if he's older than he was for Chamber of Secrets? But, I guess that's all that matters as far as "movie-making" is concerned. This is sure taking a turn for the worse. The movie isn't even out yet, and I'm boycotting it already.

Talent runs in that family, so if the rumor is true, then we should be in for a treat watching that youngster play that role. It will be great that he will bear a passing resemblance to adult Voldemort.
Elphaba Thropp, I think they mean the 11-year-old Tom Riddle, not the teen Riddle.

I was expecting some casting news now that they've started shooting. I heard before that the old Riddle won't reprise his role, and even though i hate it when they change actors, I think this time it's a good idea considering that he is almost 30.

It's nice to know that he cares for all of the actors who play in the HP films and that they are learning from the best of the business by watching their role models who have the years of talent to share with them.
