Chris Rankin, Percy Weasley from the Harry Potter movies, is currently visiting New Zealand for this year's Auckland Pulp Expo
.
In an interview with the actor he talks about the movies, his audition and mentions that it is unlikely that Percy will be in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but Chris hopes for the best for the Deathly Hallows movie.

I still think that if the character is important to the plot of the book they should be included in the movie and not written out because of time or cost.
And I will say again that in the scenes of the great hall ALL the teachers should be represented, at least by doubles of the actor who played the original part. Even Madame Pince should be represented to make it look authentic.

Wait, the movies don't mention Percy's loyalty to the ministry, so I guess that they really don't have to have him come back in DH...Now I'm suspicious.

Ah, he has to be in DH!! That's one of the best parts of the book, when Percy comes back to fight for the Order!! And it just makes Fred's death so much sadder as Percy has just come back to be with the family.

Too bad he won't be part of film six, but not everyone can be in all the movies. They would end up being 4 or 5 hours long! Now I'm sure I could and would sit that long for one of the films but kids probably would not.
