With the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince currently in production in the UK, news comes from CBBC Newsround that actress Helen McCrory
will portray Narcissa Malfoy in the sixth movie.
You may remember that Ms. McCrory was originally slated to play Bellatrix Lestrange in the fifth movie, Order of the Phoenix, but had to withdraw from filming due to her pregnancy.
Also expect an announcement on who will play young Tom Riddle and Lavender Brown soon.

So, I think Helen McCrory will do a great job taking the role of Narcissa, because she looks haughty, arrogant and worried mother... A bit of make-up, a blonde wig, maybe contact lenses and all her talent she will give life Draco's mother, I'm completely sure about that!!!

I don't mean to be mean but she just doesnt seem that graceful and beatiful as Cissy, I can see her as Bella sure but not Cissy. And she definatley better have a blonde LONG wig or we may have to riot! But who knows makeup these days is a trip.

She doesn't look like what I have always pictured Narcissa... She would have made an excellent Bella, but Cissy? No, I can't imagine it. If they make her wear contacts, and cap her off with a nice light wig, then fine. But as it is, I don't think that she looks like Cissa at all.

It makes sense that the woman they originally cast as Bellatrix (the closest woman to Voldemort) should be then cast as the next woman closest to Voldemort. They're on the same side (their own) and have a similar zealous/ambitious personality.
She's not how I pictured Narcissa, either ( I thought Naomi Watts a decent match, if a bit young) but if these movies were based on looks more than acting, they wouldn't be where they are today, would they?

In my opinion, she is too pretty to play Narcissa. I always pictured Narcissa Malfoy as this skinny, little boney woman with long blond hair, a long nose, a few wrinkes, a devilish sneer(but not as bad as Lucious), basically not your average supermodel. If they casted her, I bet she's going to do an amazing job. I can't wait to see the movie when it comes out, but I really hope that something happens, and the movie doesn't come out in a few years. For me, the Harry Potter series is realy going to end when the last movie comes out. I would love this feeling(whatever feeing you may call this, I guess the feeling of reading Harry Potter, waiting and looking for new clues on the next book and still having new HP things come out, like the new movies or new news on JK Rowling's site) to last a few more years. But since the last HP book came out, the feeling is slowly dwindling, but not that much.

Well if she was going to be Bellatrix it makes sense to have her play her sister. See does not really look like I would have thought Narcissa would look. I think she would make a better Bellatrix as intended.

I honestly never saw her as Narcissa...but I am sure once she is in character and has the blonde hair she will do the part justice...and blow me away, Just like Helena Bonham Carter did with Bellatrix... :)

I guess we'll have to wait and see how she portrays Narcissa, definitely wigs, makeup and haughty attitude.
p.s, it's not so much that i want Lavender Brown casting news, I NEED IT! I can't wait to see who she is! Hopefully she will be perfect, Lavender's character is hilarious.
