A painting by "Harry Potter" actress Katie Leung is set to be auctioned
off in Edinburgh today to raise money for the Prince's Trust, Scotland
.
You can read more and see the painting here
and Katie says of her painting:
The meaning behind my drawing shows the two birds encouraging and supporting each other even though life may see hard, boring or monotonous; hence the plain background. But as long as we help each other out and become motivated and hopeful, despite the negativity surrounding us, we will find happiness within ourselves - and this is conveyed through the birds' vibrant colours.

I don't know, but I think is way too simple. Anyways, I hope it raises enough money for the charity.

Very nice painting.
So simple---yet so complex.
I love it.
And Katie is very talented.
I wish I could draw like her.
Anyhoo, glad that the money being raised will go to a good cause. Many HP actors seem to be into charitable causes. Good for them.

Wow, that piece of artwork is really cool! I would love to own it, but its probably going to go for a price thats way out of my league, but if I had the money, I would absolutely love to bid on it.
Rupert should do some artwork and put them up for auction. I hear he's a pretty amazing characaturist(sp?), he drew a great pic of Alan Rickman, I hear, he should do characatures for people, set up a little booth and make each artwork £5 per painting, and put it to charity.

That's really good! I love it! And the meaning of it makes me like it more. Although the size of the pic is small, wished it couldve been larger.

Any true artist, like myself, will have a message in each piece that they create.
What they say is true; it's the artists that change the world, wheather it be through writing, painting, or now through the media of cinama, it is their influence that makes others see things in a different light.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

She could've drew 2 stick figures looking over the same edge and attached the same meaning and it still wouldn't have moved me. What she said is just basic kindness that should be shown to your fellow man everyday. You don't two birds to show you that.

This is a nice sketch, somewhat reminiscent of the Japanese style. It seems a good decision to sell it for charity, although in auctions the final price of artworks is often partly explained by the popularity of the artist rather than by the quality of the painting. Still, this is a good start, and I hope to see more of her artwork. As indicated above, the link is not working because the address has been misspelled:
remove one "http://" in the URL and it should work.

Very good painting with the birds. I think she does strongly convey that message through the positioning of the two birds, as if they really are talking to each other. Cute.
