Tim Roth as Prof. Snape, really

Have you ever wondered who else might have been cast to play Prof. Snape in the Harry Potter movies? Well, in a recent interview actor Tim Roth 
mentioned that he had been offered the role but decided to do Tim Burton's version of Planet of the Apes.
Mr. Roth states:
I was going to do both films [Potter and Planet of the Apes]. We rigged it so that I could fly back and forth. They figured out the schedule but it just got to be overwhelming in my mind. My kids really liked the books. They were really into me doing it, but the idea of being an ape with Tim was too good.
I would have made [Snape] a very different guy. But in the end I think it was the right decision since Alan’s had some success with the character.

hmmm that is interesting, but I don't think anyone could do it as well as Alan Rickman does, I mean it is almost like he was born just to play Snape in the Potter films... :)

Some success?? I suppose he's the only one to think that Alan has had only "some success" with the HP series!

Rickman has had "some success" with the character?? What an understatement, Alan Rickman is THE Snape! He's amazing. Perhaps the best character in the entire cast of the films. (And all of the cast is superb)...
