Even though J.K. Rowling was the number one choice by fans for TIME’s 'Person of the Year,' the Harry Potter author was one of the runner-ups
on this year's list. TIME magazine has a nice interview with the author where she talks about the books and answers
10 questions about Harry Potter.
When asked about going back to the series, JK's says:
If, and it's a big if, I ever write an eight book about the [wizarding] world, I doubt that Harry would be the central character. I feel like I've already told his story. But these are big ifs. Let's give it 10 years and see how we feel then.
This week's issue of the magazine hits newsstands on Friday with Russia's President Vladimir Putin as the 'Person of the Year' on the cover.
You can also hear an interview with JK here
where she answers many questions about the series, courtesy of TLC's podcast.

RON's all up in heRmiONe, I think he was made Person of the Year because he has done things this year (some would say not very good things) to make himself more politically important. He hasn't done anything good or amazing, just became more politically important than he used to be. Hmm...I kind of expect the number one person to be someone like Oprah, haha. :P
Anyways, congrats to JK. =)

TheOneWhoMustBeNamed just FYI, the award isn't automatically positive. It's for the person who affected the headlines most in the previous year. Before now, Osama bin Laden has been considered for the award and in 1938, Hitler won it. The name doesn't quite fit the reality.

I wish it weren't such a big if. I wish we could have a book eight. I don't even care if Harry's not the central character, I just want to read another novel about JKR's wonderful wizarding world.
What's even more of a travesty is why she isn't Person of the Year. That would've been so cool...

I loved reading some of those ten questions! It's nice to have completion.
One thing I just thought I'd like answered was if the sword of Griffindor was taken by the goblin in Gringott's when they were getting the cup out of the Lestranges' vault, how did Neville pull it out of the sorting hat to chop off Nagini's head?
Anyway, this still means there is the slighest, miniscule chance of her writing a book 8!!!

Now we know who Draco Malfoy married. I wonder if since it was mentioned that Tonks was a Hufflepuff if it means Teddy was too?

Allright, well I am not one to judge but I believe that she should have been placed at the number one spot.
I am still happy that she made it to the top five---well, the top three!!
Hopefully we will get an eighth book sooner than 10 years.
Congrats to Jo on making the list.

Wow after reading the link I got a few of my questions answered which I am happy about. I hope that she does consider writing an eighth book. I'd love to know more about those characters not of the trio. It'd be good to learn more about Hermione and Ron as they were central to the story but I'd also love to learn more about those characters who were also close to Harry like the other Weasleys and of course Ginny!
And although she didn't win, she had made a tremendous impact on the world with her stories. You just have to look around you to see what impact she has made and although she was only a runner up, in my book she was the real winner.

I think it's really quite exciting that she's #3. I personally do not believe that we are going to get an 8th book, well, not the kind that everyone is hoping for. I really do believe that the only thing we are going to get now is the Encyclopedia, and I believe that other books written by her will be published, but I don't think that they'll be anything close to Harry Potter. I honestly believe that writing an 8th book would be taking it to far. I think it would start getting into territory that could be considered "flogging a dead horse". 7 was perfect. It told an amazing story, and in my opinion, that was that. The encyclopedia, or the "Scottish Book" as we're supposed to call it, haha, would be amazing though. It would give us a more in depth look at the wizarding world, and I personally believe that I would enjoy that more than I would another story about the Wizarding world.

Mo Squit Oh i understand thats what i thought in the beginning and partly now. I book about Harry will be too much, and as you said that dead horse plot. But her "wizarding world is wonderful, fascinating, best Ive ever seen, there have been other wizarding and witchcraft stories, but of them are so realistic so, humanly s lively and wonderful. I think a book about somebody else, not as long as Hp story but brief and nice story about a witch or wizard will be ok, but yeah she needs time so it wont be as if shes doing it just for money which I know she does not...

Shouldn't the title of this be something like, 'Jo considers writing an 8th book sometime in the future'? I mean, yes, it is a big if but still it's more important that the fact she is no. 3 on some list or other.
