Harry Potter actors Richard Griffiths and Julie Walters are scheduled to receive
Orders of the British Empire (OBE) and Commander of the British Empire (CBE) respectively.
These awards were created by King George V in 1917 and are now awarded mainly to civilians and service personnel for public service or other distinctions.
Others to receive this honor include actor Sir Ian McKellen, singer Kylie Minogue and television interviewer Michael Parkinson, to name a few.
Congratulations to both actors.

I am so HAPPY for Julie and Richard! The stellar work they have done over the years (not just with Harry Potter) deserves at least this type of recognition.
Everyone should go out right now and rent "Educating Rita" as this was the first movie I ever saw with Julie Walters, and she was phenomenal...
And ABOUT TIME that Parky got this recognition too!
