Wow a movie? Cool, it's good to see him doing other movies. Now they would have all done a movie that's not Harry Potter, Rupert with that Driving Lessons one, Emma in Ballet Shoes and Dan in this one.

That sounds like a difficult role but I'm sure Dan can handle it. And it's always good or him to challenge himself with tough roles to grow as an actor. I'm sure it'll be tremendous and moving and all that.

Oh no. I don't know how I feel about watching Dan get stoned to death. That could be a bit upsetting. Still, I am oh so very proud that he has landed himself another role, one that sounds like it will be very moving and powerful (though not as much as his role as Harry because that is the most moving and powerful, at least in my world)
Congrats, Dan. I love you!

I just have to point out (being South African...) that Mogadishu is, in fact, in Somalia - which is much further north, occupying the horn of africa in the east. Dan Eldon had nothing to do with South Africa or Apartheid...

My goodness - he certainly goes for the "heavier" types of films now!
After he was the doomed son in "My Boy Jack", and the orphan in "December Boys", now he's tackling this quite horrific story of Dan Eldon.
I am sure he will be brilliant!

Wow, Dan is really busy. I hope they show this movie in theaters, I would love to see it. I know Dan always wanted to die in the last HP movie, so I guess this is the perfect role for him.
Did they say when he was going to film the movie? I don't think it would start until later next year or in 2009. He's filming HBP now, then he has to do Equus which is going to run from September until February, early March of 2009 is the only logical time he could film it if he doesn't want schedule conflicts or an over-packed schedule. The only other time would be between HBP and Equus, but thats only a few months.

This is not the first movie Dan does outside HP, like someone was saying, this is the 5th movie he does which is not HP related. He has done theatre and tv too.
I'm happy for him, I wathed My Boy Jack and December Boys, Dan did an excelent job, I was very impressed.
I can not wait to see Equus in Broadway next year!

It's really touching, I'm very proud of our Dan, he is a serious and talented actor, and a very chraming person.
And all those actors he beated for the role: Orlando Bloom, Heath Ledger, Ryan Phillippe, Joaquin Phoenix...
WOW
I think this is a wonderful proyect, Dan
