This past Sunday a documentary titled J.K. Rowling - A Year in the Life, which chronicled the last year in which the Harry Potter authored the last book in the series Deathly Hallows, aired in the UK. Video of the documentary is now online
for those unable to view it in the UK.
Thanks to Yessica and the many others for all the emails.
UPDATE: Again, thanks to everyone who emailed over the weekend to let us know that JK also updated
her web site with a sketch of the Weasley family tree in the 'Room of Requirement.'

Wow, I really must watch that documentary. I haven't seen one about J.K. Rowling forever. Wow. This brings back memories of being small and just loving Harry Potter so much. It was a big part of my personality and identity: the Harry Potter fangirl. Sweet.

I loved this documentary - thanks so much HPANA, as otherwise I would never have known about it!
The Weasley family tree is fascinating, although it's funny to think that this is a totally imaginary family! They seem so real ...

The family tree was great. As far as I can see Charlie didn't get married. I like the fact that James Potters second name is Sirius.

I'm having the same problem, it won't let me register because I don't live in the UK! Well, if I did live there, I could've watched it on TV, couldn't I?
snaily, you're correct, Fred died in 1998. JKR made the same error somewhere else, some time ago......I just can't remember where, but she later acknowledged she'd stuffed up the year. Obviously she hadn't fixed it before she posted it on her site.

I found some of the show on You Tube (which I haven't watched yet, waiting for the lunch break in the cricket!) which goes for about 18 minutes. Can anyone tell me how long the documentary was please? If it was only half an hour, then maybe the stuff on You Tube is the whole thing, minus the ads.

Yes, exactly. If I was from the UK, I wouldn't be trying so hard to get on the darn site. Ugh. And the funny thing is, my friend has seen it (she doesn't live in the UK), and I had the chance to see it, I even started it after making an account, but I decided to save it for later. So I just don't understand the change.

The documentary should be a great one to watch. It's fun to see how this past year was through Jo's perspective. Glad to see it's up online. I'll have to find time set aside to watch it.
