While attending the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S., Harry Potter actor Alan Rickman briefly mentions
that he will start filming his part in Half-Blood Prince in February. Mr. Rickman also refused to answer any questions about his character, Prof. Snape, stating that by doing so would spoil the books for the fans that have not finished reading the series.
From the interview:
EW: Okay, I think your wranglers are giving me the signal, but I have to say, even before I go to the end of the Harry Potter books -
Mr. Rickman: Before you go further, I never, ever talk about that character. Number one, because it's not fair on kids who haven't read the end. And for me to say anything - there's a bit of it that just should be left innocent. It's real storytelling, what she's done, and I'm part of that. So I just never talk about it.
EW: When do you go back to shoot Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?
Mr. Rickman: They're shooting six [now], and I start shooting my part of it beginning of February.
EW: It's a bigger part for you this time.
Mr. Rickman: Ahh.... There's important stuff. [Smiles]

I love Alan Rickman, I'm glad he(and basically everyone) are sticking till the end in HP. He's the perfect Snape, I couldn't imagine anyone else playing him. My favourite Rickman performance is in HP, but my second fave is his performance in Dogma, he was hilarious!
Its really nice of him not to answer questions because he doesn't wanna spoil anything, btw!

I think he needs to stop worrying about the kids who haven't read the ending and give the kids who have read the ending (like me!!!) some information on what he will be doing as far as which scenes he will be included in.

Alan is so freakin awesome! I love how he doesn't want to spoil it for the Kid's. It's adorable. I can't wait to see him in actiong. He's a great actor and nobody else could be a Snape like he is. No matter how much they tried.

I cannot WAIT to see Alan Rickman in HBP (and DH)! He's always been amazing as Snape, but it will be so great to see him for more than a few minutes on screen. He will be incredible. I also love that he doesn't talk about Snape. Not only is it great of him to keep his opinions about the character to himself to avoid spoiling the books for the kids who may not have read them yet, but it adds a very fitting air of mystery to his Snape as well.

I'm waiting for his new film "Sweeney Todd" which starts in February here in Germany and I'm also waiting for HBP. I really, really hope that he finally has a bigger part in the movie, I'd love to see him as Snape!

I'm really looking forward to Alan in this movie, Snape really deserves a few more time on screen, and if one actor can make Snape more interesting as he already is, than it's defenitely Alan! ... well, but one wish will never come true, more scenes between Snape and Sirius, THAT would have been funny to watch Alan and Gary play them ... two fo my fav actors ... what would i give for it ...

Alan Rickman was perfect for Snape. More than anything his voice is exactly like Snape's, in the books that's what Snape's voice seems like. The films have a habit of doing some good parts quickly, or not putting some parts in at all. Half-Blood Prince will obviously do justice to Snape's role in the films because he plays a big part in it this time. In Deathly Hallows I hope they do the Prince's Tale well and the all important revelation about Snape. I can't wait for these last two movies to come out :D
