According to the A & J Management website (the casting agency also in charge of Jessie Cave, slated to play Lavender Brown), 17 year old Scarlett Byrne has been cast in the role of Pansy Parkinson for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Well should this turn out to be true, good for her this gives her a role in what is sure to be an enormous hit. But this young lady is a wee bit too pretty to play Pansy, in my opinion. So this will be an interesting role to see played out.
I am anxious to see the film already and we are still many months away!

She is really pretty. I always pictured Pansy as being pretty, so she fits.

This girl is far too pretty and pleasant looking to play Pansy. Then again, I just looked at her photo again, and there's something about this girl's eyes that looks slightly menacing, but pretty at the same time... Like on the outside she's saying, "come play with me, I like you, you're nice", but on the inside she's saying, "once I get close to you I'm gonna use the leg binding curse and hang you upside down...".

I cannot wait to see her fawning over Draco ... I am so happy that at least Pansy has been cast, as I was getting worried as it seems that so many characters have been chopped.
