Filming of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie started today at Gloucester Cathedral. Stars already arriving
include Alan Rickman, who plays Professor Snape, Dame Maggie Smith, who plays Professor McGonagall, and Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy.
An early report states:
I saw them pouring vividly-coloured soup into bowls, with different food colourings ready to be added. It looked as though they could only be getting potions ready.
You can see some preparation pictures here of the filming and of the actors here.
Filming is expected to continue through tomorrow, Friday, February 8th. If you happen to attended please send a report or pictures our way.

It interesting to see how different Alan Rickman looks in and out of the Snape make-up. While he has a easily identifiable face the long black hair makes him Snape.
I wonder if the pictures of the Ron/Draco look a-likes are stand-ins or stunt people.
Grr. I had another thought just as I pushed the post button.
The site they are films is so picturesque it makes me wish even more that I could be in the Harry Potter movies.
HPB comes out this year!!!

I'm thinking because of the reports that Hermione is no where to be found in this filming that they may be doing some stuff with just Harry and Snape, or just random exterior things or hallway shots. But there were early reports that Helena Bonham Carter would be around, so maybe they were going to be doing parts of "the night." I dunno, but I'm glad to know Alan Rickman is back at work again! He's priceless in the photos that were taken. He looks ready to AK the photographers!

It's great to see everyone so busy and involved in the making of HBP.
It seems like a long way off before we get to see the final product of everyones efforts, but the finished picture, I'm sure, will be spectacular.
