According to Clémence Poésy her character Fleur Delacour will not be making
in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is currently being filmed in the UK.
Ms. Poésy, currently doing promotion for her new movie, In Bruges, which also stars Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes, discusses having not finished reading the last three books, which she hopes to do soon during her vacation, and discusses working once again with her fellow Potter actors.

Too bad really. It did add color to the books. I am not really sure it is needed for the remaining two books, but it would be nice to see her again.

I'm getting pretty frigging tired of them cutting stuff out of the books. I seem to recall the directory of 5 being "proud" of the fact that he cut the longest book down to the shortest movie.
I think I'm going to pass on movies 6 and 7 now. I just keep hearing about more and more things being cut out, and I'm no longer excited about them.

(Slight Spoiler) Then how are they going to achieve the fleeing scene in DH? It's the little cuts that ruin the films for me - sure they aren't key to the plot, but they're what make the books fun

I don't really go into these movies with much hope that they'll even compare to the books anymore. I try to just enjoy them for what they are. I'm sure the people who haven't read the books really love the movies--too bad they have no idea how much better the books truly are. I'm still looking forward to watching HBP though as the HP movies are always (at the least) entertaining.

Such a shame, it adds to the story and it's always fun to see weddings. Can be a huge budget savings not having the wedding however. Would have been cool seeing Harry transformed into a Weasley, though.
I just hope she and Bill aren't cut fromt he final film. They are rather important. I can imagine the battle scenes will be intense in DH too.

That was a funny part of HBP. But I guess it's an okay thing to cut, but the better have her in DH! They can easily introduce the wedding at the start, won't seem to sudden.

RON's all up in heRmiONe says:
I don't know what to think about this. If she isn't in the 6th book, that doesn't mean that she won't be in DH. The wedding scene is a major climax in the book, it can't be cut out. Then again, they didn't exactly show them getting married...its not like JK Rowling wrote their wedding exactly, like had the dude who wed them(do wizards have priests?) go through his sermen, stuff like that. They'll probably skip them getting married and go right to the party, where everything starts happening.
I really am going to miss excess of phlegm though...

Then the wedding in Deathly Hallows will seem natural, as well as its implications,to all non-readers.
They're taking too much liberty with the text I'm afraid, dropping out characters like that is seldom a sensible choice. Some were discarderd altogeter (Peeves, the Bloody Baron...) but Fleur has more importance than that. I remain quite sceptical as to what will come as a replacement.

It is a pity that she isn't appearing in the Half-Blood Prince, but I suppose her omission is better than one, of, say, Lavendar Brown or so!
We can only hope that she will return for the Deathly Hallows!

This is dissapointing. She doesn't have that big of a role to play in the 6th movie, but it is still a significant one, she should do it!! And as far as her returning for DH, she has to, because they have to have the wedding scene, becase that's when Harry, Ron and Hermione do tha secape thing...unless they put it in a differnt place, which would totally not be good, because we also meet Luna's dad in that scene. Which we all know plays a crutial part later on in the story, he even has a whole chapeter named after him.

Well then I'm not seeing the movie. If they don't introduce a very important thing in the movie such as her character then obviously they screwed up.

Well its not impossible to just have her make a short reappearance in DH. She wasn't in that much of HBP anyhow and as long as they sorta mention the wedding it should be ok.

Aw, dang! Well, hopefully they'll at least mention her because that's a fairly important part in DH. Although they could still conceivably pull it off having her back then. Oh well, either way, it'll work out somehow, I'm sure.

If it were up to me the movies would be exactly like the books, but I know that wouldn't work (except maybe in a made for tv miniseries, as someone suggested) so I guess it's alright that Fleur is cut. I hope they will at least continue the Fleur/Bill storyline in HBP by adding an explanation line or two. At least that way we can cross our fingers to see a wedding scene in the next movie!

This is rather surprising to me.
I fihured they would have to intorduce Bill in this one. I mean it's like the other Weasleys don't exsist in the movies. And what will that mean for Bill and Fleur in the seventh one. I mean they are a huge part of that book. What about Bill's attack. This is pretty disappointing to hear, actually.
