Earlier this evening Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, attended
the Theatregoers' Choice awards in London where he received two awards, including one for his performance in last's year's London End's showing of Equus in the DEWYNTERS London Newcomer of the Year category and his publicity shots for the play won the AKA Theatre Event of the Year. Daniel said of the award:
I'm truly delighted and thank everyone so much for voting for me. Equus is a tremendous and thought-provoking play and I'm so proud and honoured to have been a part of this incredible production.
The winners of the Whatsonstage show were announced on Friday with the ceremony taking place tonight.
Additionally, Fiona Shaw won the award for Best Solo Performance for her performance in Happy Days. While Maggie Smith won The FRANCO’S Best Actress in a Play for The Lady from Dubuque .

I haven't seen equus but based on the reviews that i've read, i think it's been quite a blast and his performance was also admired by more mature audiences. goes to show that he's getting a lot more recognized in different genres and developing marvelously.

There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that Dan would have won those awards. Equus was truely an amazing play, and I am so lucky that I am going to be able to experience the play again when it comes to NYC. Look forward to seeing you again, Dan!
