Earlier this evening Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, attended
the Theatregoers' Choice awards in London where he received two awards, including one for his performance in last's year's London End's showing of Equus in the DEWYNTERS London Newcomer of the Year category and his publicity shots for the play won the AKA Theatre Event of the Year. Daniel said of the award:
I'm truly delighted and thank everyone so much for voting for me. Equus is a tremendous and thought-provoking play and I'm so proud and honoured to have been a part of this incredible production.
The winners of the Whatsonstage show were announced on Friday with the ceremony taking place tonight.
Additionally, Fiona Shaw won the award for Best Solo Performance for her performance in Happy Days. While Maggie Smith won The FRANCO’S Best Actress in a Play for The Lady from Dubuque .

Congratulations to everyone!! It certainly was a big win for our HP actors, and it showed just how broad an acting range they all have. I would be interested in seeing Dan perform in Equus, as it sounds like a great show to see.

Oh he is so nice ... and that award was well-deserved! For all those knockers who think he is a "one-trick pony", I hope that this shows he is a serious actor away from the Harry Potter franchise.

To be frank, regarding Equus, when I first heard about it, I didn't quite agree with Dan appearing naked in front of the audience. I guess that the role made him seem very mature, very unlike his Harry Potter role, and it's kind of difficult to associate the two characters as the same actor.
Though I am glad to hear that he won awards for two of his performances, including the Equus one. Congratulations, Dan!

Glad to see Dan get another award, and this time not for Harry Potter.
Also Congrats to Dame Maggie Smith and Fiona Shaw, both are wonderful actors, especially Maggie. I've followed her carrer for a long time, back to her Miss Brodie days.
