J.K. Rowling has updated the rumor section
of her website to inform fans that she does not have a profile on any social networking sites, including MySpace or Bebo.
The rumor is that one of the many J.K. Rowling pages MUST be the real Jo, and she replies:

It'll be funny seeing the reactions of all those claiming to be 'JK Rowling' on Bebo/MySpace or whatever. I'm glad she made it clear, about 90% of all "actors" with MySpace or Bebo are fake. I've seen about 10 people claiming to be Dan Radcliffe on Bebo, which is pathetic bacause i'm pretty sure he has enough to be dealing with, filming HBP and his new movie. He doesn't have time to sit and socialise with his fans, even if he wanted to. The same goes for Emma and Rupert. Im sure they don't even have time to tell their fans they don't have a Bebo or MySpace. XD

Hahaha that's funny imagining other JK Rowlings from alternative universes that party. Pity though, it would be cool if she had a bebo. Of course, she'd get WAY too many people requesting to be her friend, it would be annoying and take all day to decline them all. But maybe if they made it possible to have a page that you can view without requesting to be her friend and you can't leave comments and white board drawings and stuff. That would be cool.
