It's wonderful that they're standing up for this... But I wonder how much it will do?
Better to try than to not though.
And I thought it was "behalf"?

I'm really happy that all of these authors are trying to raise awareness about Darfur. It's really sad that much of the international community is not doing anything and that the Sundanese government undermines what little effort is being done to end the genocide and improve the conditions for the Darfuris.

I think it's great when people such as JK and others with a degree of social influence (Oprah, Angelina) genuinely use their fame as a means of raising awareness.
Good work, JK.

This is why I revere and respect Jo Rowling so much ... she could easily just keep quite with her fame and her money, but instead she campaigns for charity and for children's rights.
Good luck to Jo and the other authors.

It's good that these guys are speaking out about these issues, but I'm not sure it'll accomplish much directly. The real benefit is that it will raise awareness with the fans and readers (that would be us!) so that we, in turn, can become more involved and push our governments to do more or possibly become directly involved with organizations that can help.

YES, thank you, maybe now the government will finally decide to do something about the atrocities that are taking place there. Good for these authors; I can't imagine a cause that would be more urgent or more worthy of their support.

It is nothing short of wonderful that all of these renowned authors are bringing attention to this problem. Hopefully their sentiments are considered properly by the authorities, as it is about time that politicians adopted a much more proactive approach to resolving this dreadful situation. Much more can – and needs to – be done.
