It is being reported
this morning that Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has signed on to star in Napoleon and Betsy, a period drama being written and directed by Benjamin Ross which hopes to film in the fall.
According to the article:
Watson will play Betsy Balcombe, a young, impetuous noblewoman trapped on the isolated British Isle of St. Helena who falls in love with Napoleon, who is in exile on the island.
Watson is filling the shoes recently vacated by Scarlett Johansson, who stepped aside as the part skewed younger.

Yeah I was hoping she wouldn't become an actor just from Harry Potter. I'll probably skip this one though since it seems a bit too romantic for me.

Great opportunity. She has been getting some nice roles of late. And is maturing as an actress. It is nice to see all three of the trio getting the chance to try something different.

Oh, I hope she doesn't play it all slushy and pathetic, that would really irritate me! I'm looking forward to seeing it though when it's released. To be honest, being seen as being of a similar calibre to Scarlett Johansson is quite impressive in itself. I just hope she lives up to it and doesn't make the role all about being girly and rubbish, because that really is not her!

I hope Emma does this role, she needs to do more movies. All she has is Harry Potter and Ballet Shoes. I love Emma's acting. Contrary to popular belief, I love Emma's "Dancing and Crazy Eyebrows". Every actor and and atress has different techniques and styles of acting, and her eyebrows are her technique. She acts with her eyebrows. Rupert has said to act with those sexy eyes of his, and Dan, he's an all around actor in my opinion.
I love the fact that she chooses roles that she loves, that suits her. Not because it's supposedly going to be a popular movie, or a movie just so that she can have more on her resume, because she wants to identify with the character. Please do this role, Emma!

I'm sure she'll be wonderful in this role, it's just what she needs to further her career.
She has that elegant poise that would be required of young lady of nobility.
Congradulations Emma!

I really like how she's taking roles to really put her out there. It's nice to see that she's making a different name for herself other than Hermione Granger.

Thank GOODNESS that Scarlett Johansson is getting too old! I have never really liked Scarlett anyway - I think she is over-hyped for the actual amount of talent she has.
Yay Emma! She will be wonderful!
