With the 1,000th issue of Entertainment Weekly on newsstands today, the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book is included
at the number 2 spot on their 'New Classics Books' list.
EW says:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
J.K. Rowling (2000)
The first three Harry Potter novels were pure kid stuff, and then, unexpectedly, Rowling went epic and dark - killing children, resurrecting evil, and sending Harry to war.
The full list can be viewed here
on their site. The special double issue hits newsstands today and has Daniel Radcliffe, Bono, Will Smith, Lisa Simpson and Johnny Depp on the cover.

Well I always knew this was going to happen ;-) no seriously I believe that the Potter books will still be read in decades or even centuries, their classics.

I dont get it. Why didnt any of the other books make it onto the "new classic books" list.
I mean, the goblet of fire isnt the best one in my opinion, by far.
and why didnt the sorcerors/philosiphors stone make it at all?
I mean, thats the starting point for all of the harry potter books, and it wasnt even included.
oh, I dont know.
I guess Its just really subjective.

not that I dont like any of the GoF.
I just dont think it was one of the best ones. I dont even think it was the turning point of harry potter.
I thought the turning point has always been the OoTP.
but I still like the GoF. dont get me wrong.

Cool, but I'm not quite sure why Goblet of Fire was the best, the others are much better. Personally, it was my least favorite.

Hmm....I wonder why they only mentioned Goblet...if they counted Half-Blood, that would beat even the Da Vinci Code, I'm sure..
