There are some things in life that we do just to make our parents proud, Harry Potter is the achievement of Jo's life, I can imagine how hard it is not having told her mum about it, but still I'm sure wherever her mum is, she must be really proud of her daughter. Go give your mums a hug people :)

There are a lot of things I wish I would have said to my mother who I lost about a month ago. Talk to your moms while you still can people. You never know when she'll be taken from you.

I bet it was hard for her to give that interview, but I’m sure it's better to talk about it. It's sad how a lot of people don't pay much attention to their parents thinking they'll be there forever and when they suddenly go they have regrets, like JK does.
As for the MS part:
I already mentioned more than once that I admire her on her charity work. It’s always hard to lose someone, especially someone as close as a mother, so it’s natural to try to help people with same problems.

I'm so sorry that she didn't get to share the up's and down's of Harry Potter with her mom. I'm sure her mother is looking down on her daughter and is very proud of everything she accomplished. And also, way to go for supporting the ms charity:)

Ah regrets...they suck. Poor JK...
I think that she, in a way, makes up for the not telling her mother by becoming the MS patron.
Now I'm off to read the interviews! (It feels like it's been ages since we heard from JK)

I can understand how she would feel about not ever telling her mom about her writing, but I'm sure her mom is smiling down from heaven with pride right now! We have a friend with MS, and there definitely is not enough money or research on it.

That is so desperately tragic - JK Rowling's mother never got to see her daughter's amazing success - and she died so young! I am so glad that Jo is using her considerable star power to further the cause of MS and hopefully she'll be instrumental in the cure! GO JO!!

I'm really proud of her that she is a patron of the MS Society. I, personally, am thankful because I had an aunt and an uncle die from MS. I am glad that celebrities use their "power" to bring awareness to diseases such as this. Thanks Jo!

Author JK Rowling has revealed her "real regret" that her mother died without knowing about Harry Potter.
Anne Rowling died from MS aged 45, six months after the writer began work on the books.
What a wonderful thing for her to do. She is easily one of the most influential people in the world and for her to bring such attention to a highly underfunded disease is an awesome project. And that it has affected her so personally just makes it doubly poignant.

It's sad that she has to live with the fact that her mum didn't know about her extraordinary achievement in the world of literature. It's so great that Jo does all of this fund raising for MS..that and Harry Potter would make her mother proud!

We all have regrets in life based on the choices we make as we travel through it. She hasn't forgiven heself yet for not telling her mother about the creation of the Harry Potter stories. Every child wants to prove themselves to their parents in one way or another, she wasn't able to accomplish this.
Fortunately she is in the postion to help those who suffer from the same illness that took her mother from her.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

That is so sad, the fact of how her mother never knew about the phenonmenon that Harry Potter is to the world, or anything. I mean, I've read her biography on her web site and other books where they talk about her life and how her mother never knew.
But that's still so sad. And how she'll never get to tell her about it.
