MS is miserable, it's on both sides of my family so I've seen several people suffering from it rather horribly (and of course I fear it personally as well). Kudos to JKR for taking something that hurt her so badly and trying to help others and keep them from the same pain.
As for the regrets: are there any sadder words than "if only"? I have sneaking suspicion I'm quoting someone there...

Oh, I can't wait to read the whole thing. It is a shame that her mother never got to see how amazing Jo's writing really is.

That's so sad. But I bet her mother, out there somewhere, knows about her success and is very proud of her. She's doing such a great thing by working with this charity, that's why shes my role model.

Regrets are a terrible thing--I would encourage those whose parents are still living, to appreciate them and love them. True for all loved ones, actually.
There is a song out now called "Say" and one of the lyrics says to just "say what you need to say"
I am so glad that a clebrity like JKR is showing her support for such a cause as MS. What an awesome way to lead and may many follow.

Wow. Yes, that about covers it, ha ha. Rowling is... inspiring. I feel terrible about her mother, though. Can you imagine what the series would have been like had Jo's mum not died?

I think it's really sad that Jo never told her mother about her writing. I can see why she would feel so badly about not telling her. There was so much success behing her writing and she never told her mom. I'd be crush too.

This is a very interesting document. i didn't know she was involved in the Multiple Sclerosis Society. i do hope though that even if she has those regrets she's still able to be proud of what she has contributed to society

It's ok to regret things, especially when it comes to our parents after they are gone...or anyone who has left this world. I think we all have regrets like that. I know I do with my father and now my mother who is suffering from Alzheimer's. It is just part of life. JK had done amazing things and those who believe in the after life would have comfort in knowing or thinking that the regret of something being unknown is known by those who are now gone.

Oh, that must eat away at her, knowing that her mother did not know about her greatest achievement. But - i'm sure she does.
