It's not like it's really Harry Potter's 10th anniversary, if your going to celebrate, celebrate the real one at least.
Have fun anyone you does go. Can someone promise to replace any mention of Sorcerer with Philosopher when reading? It will make my day. :P

No offence, but I really don't like the scholastic covers at all, they seem so foreign to me. Bloomsbury!

What is the point of starting at 8 AM on a Tuesday when everybody who's interested will probably be at school or work? It would be fun to go, but I would probably only get there by the very end.
King's Cross Station., I would say "philosopher" instead of "sorcerer" if I was reading out loud. Even though I've only read the American version, I tend to do that in my head anyway.

That's absolutely GREAT!!! I especially love this bit:
Fans of all ages can view the event on a live webcastopens in new window (www.scholastic.com/readharry), and those in New York will get a chance to sit in the throne used by J.K. Rowling at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, and read a portion from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone aloud.

I stayed up all night and went to this today! I was the first to read after the editor! It was amazing!!
There was a news crew there and they interviewed a bunch of us. They had a different video up before but they changed it to another yet kept the same link which is bothersome because I'm in both and I'd like to be able to see both but here's the link.

I blogged from my phone a bit while I was there but I'll have an entry up about the whole experience later in the day if I don't crash before then. I didn't sleep at all last night and got there for 3AM to insure myself a spot. We all got the book and a really nice anniversary pin.
This is my blog: http://www.thenerdybird.com/ I don't want to post each individual post link so if anyone reads this after they've already gone off the first page, just do a search at top for Harry Potter and they should all come up. :)
