It has been announced
that Scholastic, the US Harry Potter publishers, will open with a 3.5 million print run for J.K. Rowling's Tales of Beedle the Bard.
“Everyone knows someone who loves Harry Potter. It's a great stocking stuffer and a wonderful addition to a Harry Potter library,” says Diane Mangan, director of children's merchandising at Borders Book Group. Already Beedle is getting strong preorders at both Borders and Borders.com. And Mangan is hoping to keep up the momentum by highlighting the book on Borders's homepage and giving it front-of-store treatment in its stores on publication.

I wonder what the number will be for the deluxe edition. It seems like a small run even for the regular print edition. But with the economy, maybe they are just being careful.

This is going to be so great. I thought it would all be over after reading the series (1-7) a couple of times but these new books will be a good refresher of the Harry Potter world!

I ordered mine when it was first announced back in August or September. I'm just waiting for the day when the mail girl drops it in my mailbox.

I ordered my collectors edition as soon as I heard it was coming out, I didn't want to risk not getting one.
My sister and I were going to share a copy, but then decided we would each rather have our own, so 2 collectors editions are headed our way on Dec. 4!! Can't Wait!

*blinks* oh, and I've found a third hand: They are printing fairy tales. Fairy tales! 3,5 million copies. That's brilliant for this genre. Never shall we forget the wise words of our famous Headmaster about the power of children's tales. Right, I'm all in for it.

I preordered mine from Amazon back when we first heard about this. I almost preordered the collector's edition but I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for it, at least not until I hear from fellow HP fans what they think of it once it's in their hands. So everyone who gets the collector's edition please be sure to share with the rest of us how you think it compares to the regular edition once they're both released.
