In a new interview
, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) talked about his love for working on the Harry Potter films, as well as his take on the Deathly Hallows film split:
"Unfettered fun" is how Isaacs describes the experience of playing the Malfoy. For a moment, he talks about Malfoy's focus on "racial purity - it sounds like right-wing political campaigning," but then he says, "I don't want to look at the serious side of it. It was too much fun. It was an opportunity for me to play like my kids play, and to chew up the scenery with some of the greatest actors in the world... They prove that it's not true that an unhappy film set makes for a good film...
"We had a ridiculously good time making them," he says, recalling specific scenes with Richard Harris, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes and, of course, Harry himself, Daniel Radcliffe.
Talking about how the last book is set to be made into two films, he says ominously, "I think that's a mistake."
After a beat, he adds, "It should be made into 10 films so I can do it for the rest of my life."

He really is such a joy. They cast Malfoy perfectly by choosing Isaacs. He truly enjoys his character, which is what makes him so delicious and pleasurable to hate.

I agree with him I don't think that DH should have been the only two parter. From OOTTP and on it should have been two parters, but I guess I am a lone wolf in this that I am satisfied with eight. As much as I would love to just be waiting for another one to come out. I don't want to do it forever, but yes as the person above me said. I will watch it for the rest of my life. I can't wait for the ultimate box set of one through seven to come out when they are all done. That's going to be so cool!

Very humorous interview. He is a truly brilliant actor. I hope to see him in many more films after the HP realm has slowed down or dropped off (shudder at the thought of no more HP).

It's good to here from him again. His views of making the films seem to those of having a playtime rather than a job. I'd like to be a fly on the wall while his scenes are being filmed. I'm sure they are hilariously funny.
The new film 'Good' sounds interesting, I'll put it on my 'must see' list.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

I also think the split is a mistake, it shouldn't be split into 10, it shouldn't be split at all! But I love Isaacs excessively, he is so Lucius.
